According to the amendments made to the legislation, the violation of the “Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Unemployment Insurance” (hereinafter: the Law) causes administrative and criminal liability. So that, not being registered at an insurance company as an insurer; not providing employees with an unemployment insurance; not paying the insurance premium in accordance with the law- at the given time and certain amount to the insurance company, as well as violation of other requirements stipulated by the Law, imposes administrative responsibility, and in this case, the penalty is imposed on natural persons at the rate of 100 AZN and on legal entities - 400 AZN. At the same time, a fine is imposed in the amount of thirty to seventy percent of the amount of the payment, which is the direct object of the administrative offense, for non-payment of insurance premiums, which is not more than twenty thousand manats.

Persons who have not notified the insurance company not later than 10 days about the circumstances envisaged by the Law, which caused the change and termination of the insurance payment by the insured person, shall be penalized in the amount of the damage.

If the damage caused by the mentioned circumstances is more than 20 000 AZN, individuals committing those offenses shall be involved to criminal responsibility, so that, they shall be punished with the penalty of two to four times the amount of damages or up to two years of reclamation work or up to three years with imprisonment for the term up to three years with deprivation of the right to hold office or to engage in specified activities.
